Nuncio’s visit to Iceland

Msgr. Julio Murat, Archbishop and Apostolic Nuncio to the Nordic countries, arrived in Iceland on Friday, October 18. The visit, which lasted until Tuesday, October 22, was eventful. On Saturday, Msgr. Murat went together with Bishop David, to Ísafjörður, where they celebrated mass and stayed until Sunday. On Monday, the Archbishop held a Mass at 18.00 in the Cathedral of Christ the King in Reykjavik. On the same day, he also had a meeting with the newly appointed bishop of the Lutheran Church in Iceland, Guðrún Karls Helgudóttir. The following day, Tuesday, the Archbishop read mass in the chapel of the Mother Teresa Sisters in Reykjavik. Then he also went, together with Father Piotr, to Selfoss to inspect the construction of our new church at Móavegur 6. On Wednesday morning, the Apostolic Nuncio visit ended and he went home to his residence in Stockholm.
