LMC (Lay Missionaries of Charity)
The Lay Missionaries of Charity (LMC) is an international Association of Catholic lay people married and single, who adhere to the spirit and charism of Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
LMC members freely and unconditionally respond to the authentic call of God to “satiate the infinite thirst of Jesus for the love of souls”, by the profession of the four private vows of chastity (conjugal), poverty, obedience and wholehearted and free service to the poorest of the poor, beginning with the members of one´s own family.

Stella Maris Charismatic Community
Stella Maris Charismatic Community (SMCC) was founded in 2001 and the name honours the Blessed Virgin Mary who guides this group. A small prayer group of lay people in the Parish of St. Mary under the spiritual direction of the parish priest. Members tend to experience a deepening prayer life. Emphasis is placed on daily Mass, praying the Rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and other forms of personal prayer. Also monthly Confession, daily Bible reading, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Fasting, Recollections/Retreats and so on.
Everybody is welcome to join in the prayer meeting on the first Sunday evening of each month, and on Friday nights for the rest of the month, in St. Mary´s Church Parish Hall at 20:00. For more information contact Napoleon Gelito, tel. 562 4937.
The Cenacle
The Cenacle is a prayer based on the Rosary. There are 3 Cenacle groups in Reykjavík. Each week (except the first Friday) the Lady of All Nations picture is brought to families who are willing to pray the Cenacle in their homes at 19:30. Everybody is welcome to join a Cenacle and anyone can invite the Cenacle to their home. But always on the first Friday of the month, the Cenacle is prayed in Maríukirkja at 19:00. The Pioneer Total Abstinence Association of the Sacred Heart
The Pioneer Total Abstinence Association of the Sacred Heart (PTAA) The Pioneer Movement was founded by Fr. James Cullen, SJ in Ireland in 1899 to address the problem of Alcohol abuse. Pro-Life – Lífsvernd
The mission of Lífsvernd is to pray and work for the ending of abortion in Iceland.The Lífsvernd website can be found at lifsvernd.is and on Facebook. Lífsvernd members are invited to attend the monthly board meetings at Maríukirkja. Members are also invited to gather at the pro-life bell in front of Landakotskirkja on Tuesdays at 12 noon to pray the Rosary for an end to abortion. Vinafélag Riftúns
Vinafélag Riftúns was founded in Riftún in October 2003. The purpose of Vinafélag Riftúns was to support the Catholic Church in caring for, maintaining and improving the facilities in Riftún. Now Riftún has been sold so the challenge for the near future is the building of a new church in Selfoss. There are no regular meetings. For more information contact Fr. Denis, tel. 557 7420.
