All Baptized are Called to Mission

Imagine you did something bad—something you swore you’d never do, but you did it anyway. Then you try to ignore your conscience but you know you’re guilty. What can you do?

We Catholics in Iceland are so blessed to be able to receive the sacrament of Confession whenever we need it. We bring our brokenness to God and ask for His forgiveness.  As the priest absolves us, we KNOW we have been forgiven.

But what if in your country there were no priest within 500 km? Could you receive the sacraments you need? And what if you don’t even know who Jesus is—how would you find out about the fact He loves you and actually died for you?!

October is Missions month. But all year long, we each have a responsibility to tell people about Jesus. Why? Because through baptism, we became members of His redeemed family! This map shows many of the countries where MISSIO is at work. Since almost none of us can travel to Africa or Asia to tell people about Christ and to strengthen His holy Catholic Church, we must instead do our part by praying and donating generously to the work of MISSIO on World Mission Sunday, October 20. Eternal lives depend on it!
