Bishop´s Mass in Selfoss
On Sunday, October 5, there will be a Bishop’s Mass in the Chapel at Smáratún 12 in Selfoss to mark the founding of the Parish of the Holy Cross in South Iceland.
Fr. Mercurio Claudio Rivera III, who has been appointed as the administrator of the new parish, will be installed as the parish priest of the Holy Cross Parish. Fr. Mercurio is from the Philippines and has worked as a priest in the Catholic Church in Iceland since the beginning of 2021, most recently as an assistant priest in Ásbrú and before that, assistant priest in St. Mary’s Church and in Selfoss.
Fr. Mercurio will be based in Selfoss.
