The Most Rev. Peter Bürcher Bishop em. in Iceland

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

On the occasion of the Plenary Assembly of the Nordic bishop´s Conference, taking place this time in Iceland, in the parish of St. Francis of Assisi in Stykkishólmur from 16 to 20 March 2026, The Most Reverend Bishop of Reykjavik Emeritus Peter Bürcher is also in Iceland.

We were very pleased to have him with us in the evening Mass in our Cathedral, yesterday, Sunday, March 15, where Bishop David welcomed him back home.

We ask you to pray for our Bishops at this important gathering in Stykkishólmur!

Everyone is cordially invited to the first Holy Mass today, 16 March with the Cardinal and Bishops at 8:00 PM in our parish church in Stykkishólmur. From Tuesday to Thursday, those who can, can attend Mass at 7:30 AM and Vespers at 5:30 PM.
