A meeting in the Cathedral of Christ the King in Reykjavík at 20.00, Wednesday 24 January 2024.
Prayer in St. Peter’s Church in Akureyri at 19.00, Tuesday 23 January 2024.
As part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, an international ecumenical observance celebrated annually, we come together to pray for the unity of Christians around the world. This week holds great significance in our Christian calendar, fostering a spirit of togetherness among believers.
This year’s theme is ‘You shall love the Lord your God… and your neighbour as yourself’ (Luke 10:27). The reflection on the story of the Good Samaritan encourages us all to “Go and do likewise,” emphasizing the importance of crossing boundaries and recognizing the bonds that unite the entire human family.
Let’s come together in unity, embracing the spirit of love and compassion. Invite your friends and family to join us as we lift our voices in prayer for Christian unity and understanding.
