Thursday, the 26th of October the President of Iceland, Mr. Guðni Th. Jóhannesson invited the representatives of The Interfaith Forum of Iceland to his residence at Bessastaðir. About 30 people attended and the president of Iceland addressed them and encouraged, in light of the wars in the world, especially in the Middle East, to strengthen the solidarity between the members of The Forum, with tolerance and mutual respect as a guiding principle. On behalf of The Forum, Mons. Jakob Rolland thanked the President and reiterated the leaders’ willingness to speak out about peace and tolerance.
The same evening, Frú Agnes Sigurðardóttir, the Bishop of Iceland, invited the members of the Forum to a dinner at her episcopal residence. She thanked for the good cooperation that takes place within the Forum.
